

The most commonly used output styles for footnotes are Vancouver and Chicago 17 thstyles but you can choose any style to format your footnotes. The appearance of the footnotes will depend on the referencing style you are using. Click on Insert to add the citation details to the footnote section of your Word document.Choose Insert Citation > Find Citation… to look up a reference.The cursor should now be in place in the footnote section of the document. Or press Ctrl>Alt+F to use the Word shortcut.In the References tab in Word, select Insert Footnote (AB 1).The cursor should be placed within the appropriate part of the body text. You can use EndNote to create footnotes in your Word document using Word’s own References tools.
